Families Reunite Across the US-Mexico Border for “A 3 Minute Hug” – Coming to Netflix

On May 12th 2018 the border between El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico was opened, albeit temporarily, for families to have 3 minutes to reunite. Family members who had been denied asylum, deported, or separated for more than 10 years were allowed to meet at the border for a precious few minutes in a special event organised by the Border Network for Human Rights. Four camera crews (two from the US and two from Mexico) were there to film the event and, just like the participants, they were also not allowed to actually cross the border. What became of the event has been put into an emotional 30-minute documentary: “A 3 Minute Hug” which comes to Netflix on October 28th.
