What’s Coming to Netflix UK in June 2017

May was a HUGE month for Netflix Originals and, while there aren’t as many in June, there are still some great new additions coming this month according to Vodzilla and Radio Times. As well as all the global Netflix Originals we post about separately there are a lot of great shows and films on their way – so let’s jump straight to our top picks for new additions to Netflix UK in June.

New Movies on Netflix UK for June

First up for Marvel comic book fans we have “Blade II” (1st June) starring Wesley Snipes as a half-man half-vampire trying to rid the world of evil vampires. There are also 2 films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with Thor: The Dark World (24th June) and “Ant-Man” (22nd June).

For fans of science fiction there are a few good films coming starting with “Elysium” (7th June), starring Matt Damon, where the super rich live on a space station while the poor remain on Earth – one man decides to bring equality back to the human race. “District 9” (28th June) tells the story of an extra-terrestrial race that are forced to live in ghettoised slums until a government worker is affected by their technology. June also sees the arrival of “Jurassic World” (19th June) – the 4th film in the Jurassic Park series. A new park, built on the site of the original Jurassic Park, houses a hybrid dinosaur which, surprise surprise, gets out of control and goes on a rampage…

On a more lighthearted note, June sees the return of Chef (30th June) starring John Favreau, among others. When a chef’s plans to open a restaurant fail, he heads home and opens a food truck instead – you can read our review here. Sheffield based, stripping steel workers are also coming in the form of “The Full Monty” (16th June) too.

World War 2 themed “Schindler’s List” comes on 22nd June. Based on the true story, Oskar Schindler realises that his workforce in Nazi-occupied Poland is dwindling and decides to help save the Jews. Another true story is that of Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker Media in “Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press” (23rd June).

The final film of note for June is “XX” (22nd June) – a horror anthology with a twist. The twist, in this instance, is that the four short stories were all written and directed by women. The four parts are titled: “Don’t Fall”, “Her Only Living Son”, “The Birthday Cake” and “The Box”.
