It’s been over two years since we first announced that Mike Myers (“Wayne’s World”, “Austin Powers” series) would star in and executive produce a half-hour comedy series where he will play multiple characters. But now things finally seem to be moving ahead with a number of cast being announced for the show as well as a confirmed title. “The Pentaverate” will see Myers playing seven characters alongside the recently announced cast: Ken Jeong (“The Hangover”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey”), Debi Mazar (“Entourage”), Richard McCabe (“1917”), Jennifer Saunders (“French and Saunders”), and Lydia West (“Dracula”).
The series is about a secret society who have been working to influence world events since 1347 and the unlikely Canadian journalist who finds himself embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and just possibly save the world himself.
The 6-episode limited series is directed by Mike Myers, John Lyons and Jason Weinberg. Myers said “I love creating characters, and Netflix has given me a fantastic playground to play in.”
