If you want to know what to watch this weekend then we’re here to give you the lowdown on this week’s biggest and best film, TV and documentary additions on Netflix UK. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to Netflix in the UK in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

This week, one of the most popular additions for film has been the British drama The Raven On The Jetty which sees a troubled young boy visit his estranged father in the Lake District and become fascinated with the death and decay in the landscape around him. Between Two Women is set in the North of England and is a powerful tale of suppressed sexuality; which offers poignant and sharply observant social commentary, interlaced with a tender romance. Ellen Hardy, a working-class mother is unhappily married to Geoff and struggling with her feelings for another woman – her 10-year-old son’s vivacious teacher, Kathy Thompson. The black and white spy drama Candlelight In Algeria sees an American sculptress in wartime Britain gets mixed up with a British agent and a Nazi spy who knows that a top-secret meeting of Allied military leaders will be taking place in Algeria–and that the British agent has a camera that has photographs of the meeting place. In Sea Of Lies* a couple desperate to save their marriage after both having affairs, sets out on a sailing holiday, but their best laid plans backfire when they encounter a stranded yacht and what then becomes peril at sea. The Unforgivable sees woman released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime but when she re-enters a society they refuse to forgive her past. Finally we have The War Below which is set during World War I, where a group of British miners are recruited to tunnel underneath no man’s land and set bombs from below the German front in hopes of breaking the deadly stalemate of the Battle of Messines.

*Update: 6.38pm, December 10th – Sea Of Lies has just been removed from Netflix UK without warning…

For TV this week we have the reality series The Family That Sings Together: The Camargos where surrounded by family and friends, Zezé Di Camargo and daughter Wanessa spend time together and collaborate creatively. Our Beloved Summer is a coming of age, romantic comedy revolving around ex-lovers who broke up with a promise never to meet again. But when the documentary they filmed ten years ago gets famous they are forced into facing each other and the camera once more. The reality series Twentysomethings: Austin sees 20-somethings navigate love and friendship, all while starting a new adventure: life. Also added were season 3 of Titans and season 2 of Glow Up and a crazy new comedy series Saturday Morning All Star Hits!

Documentaries this week include Voir where film lovers examine the cinematic moments that thrilled, perplexed, challenged and forever changed them in this collection of visual essays. Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story details disturbing allegations of sexual abuse, violence and misconduct by big cat zoo owner Bhagavan “Doc” Antle. King George VI: The Man Behind the King’s Speech is the definitive story of the man who overcame his own failings for the sake of his nation. When his older brother, Edward VIII abdicates the throne to marry Wallis Simpson, nervous-mannered successor George “Bertie” VI is plagued with shyness and a speech impediment when speaking to his subjects. It is the true story of an introvert and humble man whom events and circumstances made him become an inspiration for the British nation during their war with Hitler’s Germany. In Reggae in a Babylon filmmaker Wolfgang Büld turns his cameras on the reggae music movement that blossomed in England in the 1970s, a thriving scene born of the union between Jamaican music and spirituality and the rebellious spirit of the times. Finally we have Women In Rock which documents the essence of the punk movement through performances & interviews of some of punk rock’s most important bands, including interviews and performances.

Finally for family viewing this week we have Go Dog Go which sees handy and inventive pup Tag chase adventures with her best pal, Scooch, solving problems and helping the citizens of Pawston along the way. In Centaurworld a hardened war horse is transported away from battle and finds herself in a land that’s inhabited by silly, singing centaurs of all shapes and sizes. Back to the Outback follows the adventures of a group of Australia’s deadliest creatures as they plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback after they get tired of being locked in a reptile house where humans gawk at them like they’re monsters. The animated film Surf’s Up is a behind-the-scenes look at the annual Penguin World Surfing Championship, and its newest participant, up-and-comer Cody Maverick.
