All the New Additions to Watch This Weekend on Netflix UK (19th November 2021)

Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to Netflix in the UK in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

The most popular film addition this week has been Hard Target 2 which sees retired mixed martial artist Wes “The Jailor” Baylor unable to refuse a million-dollar purse he’s offered for one final bout in Myanmar. But when he arrives for the fight, he learns he’s been tricked into becoming the target of a human hunt. Carrying only water and a ruby-filled money belt for the last person standing, Wes must outsmart the heavily armed group that has paid to kill him. As he fights for his life in the treacherous jungle terrain, the hunters become the hunted. In The Piano in the mid-19th century, a mute woman is sent to New Zealand along with her young daughter and prized piano for an arranged marriage to a wealthy landowner, but is soon lusted after by a local worker on the plantation. In the British comedy I Am Not a Witch 8-year old girl Shula is accused of witchcraft. After a short trial she is found guilty, taken into state custody and exiled to a witch camp. At the camp she takes part in an initiation ceremony where she is shown the rules surrounding her new life as a witch. End of Watch is shot documentary-style, and follows the daily grind of two young police officers in LA who are partners and friends, and what happens when they meet criminal forces greater than themselves.

Other films worth mentioning this week include Miss Saigon 25th Anniversary Performance a filmed production of the musical ‘Miss Saigon’ for its 25th anniversary, performed live at London’s Prince Edward Theatre, in London’s West End. In Doom Space Marines are sent to investigate strange events at a research facility on Mars but find themselves at the mercy of genetically enhanced killing machines. Finally for films this week we have Love Actually which follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England.

For TV this week we have Hellbound a story about otherworldly beings who appear out of nowhere to issue a decree and condemn individuals to hell. These supernatural events cause great mayhem and enable the religious group The New Truth to grow in influence. A few people, however, become suspicious about its activities and begin investigating its involvement in mysterious events. Cowboy Bebop is a live action adaptation of an anime series where Spike Spiegel and his rag-tag crew of bounty hunters, or Cowboys, try to capture the galaxy’s worst criminals and survive the unexpected dangers they encounter throughout space, sometimes saving the world in the process but always leaving millions in damages. In The Queen of Flow a talented young Reggaeton music composer from Medellín, Colombia gets wrongly imprisoned in New York City, and all her music is stolen, and her family is murdered. Years later she returns to Medellín to wreak revenge on those who wronged her. Blown Away: Christmas sees five fan-favorite glass blowers return to the hot shop to compete in a series of Christmas-themed challenges; the winner will receive a $10,000 cash prize, plus an additional $10,000 will be donated to his or her charity of choice. Finally for TV we have Below Deck Mediterranean where Captains Sandy and Mark manage messy yacht crews and demanding guests all on the picturesque Mediterranean Sea.

Documentaries this week include season 2 of Tiger King which looks at he events of the past 18 months after the release of season 1. The Mind, Explained explaining everything from dreaming to anxiety disorders, discover how your brain works with this illuminating series. I Believe in Miracles follows the story of the history-making Nottingham Forest team that won back-to-back European Cups in 1979 and 1980, led by the mercurial Brian Clough and his assistant Peter Taylor. Finally we have Procession tells the story of six men who were sexually abused by Catholic clergy as boys and become a makeshift family and find empowerment by creating films inspired by their trauma.

For kids and family this week we have Dogs in Space which sees desperate scientists send genetically enhanced dogs into space to find a new world to call home, when they realise Earth is in danger. StoryBots: Laugh, Learn, Sing is an early year programme which teaches the alphabet through song. In Tobot Galaxy Detectives an intergalactic device transforms toy cars into robots: the Tobots! Working with friends to solve mysteries, they protect the world from evil. In The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star when a priceless Christmas relic is stolen, royal look-alikes Margaret and Stacy turn to audacious doppelgänger Fiona and her dashing ex for help. In Pokémon Detective Pikachu when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Nanny McPhee sees a governess uses magic to rein in the behavior of seven ne’er-do-well children in her charge. Earwig and the Witch sees a headstrong young girl who grew up in an orphanage discover she has magical powers after being adopted by a selfish witch. Also added was the interactive movie Johnny Test’s Ultimate Meatloaf Quest.
