This sci-fi that movie delves into the psyche of sleep. A group of young students are selected to take part in a new treatment trial – DEEP. There is one keynote – do not fall asleep. If they fall asleep for more than 60 seconds their heart is in danger of stopping beating. As the insomniac students force themselves to stay awake, the consequences of lack of sleep begin to take effect and the world becomes a terrifying place. The filmmakers have been cited as saying the film is a direct shot at reaching young people and challenging the insomniac lifestyle that many young people have adopted.

Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans

The hugely successful Tales of Arcadia franchise by Guillermo del Toro culminates in this feature-length movie that sees characters from all three series come together to save the day. Following the three seasons of the original Trollhunters in 2016-2018 a further two series were developed and brought to the screen at Netflix to complete the trilogy – ‘3Below’ and ‘Wizards’. Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans sees the characters made heroes in each of the series come together to take on the Arcane order. Whilst the movie is intrinsically linked to the franchise it does claim to be a stand-alone movie so if you are new to this world then it may still be worth checking it out as one for kids this summer.
