Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal and Greed

Well, Netflix is being extremely cryptic about this new release and it’s got us worried. Bob Ross – famed for his long-running TV show ‘The Joy of Painting’ has become a generation-spanning icon with his peaceful voice instructing art lessons for all. In the trailer, we only hear Ross’ voice say “I’ve been wanting to get this story out for all these years” as the voice-over to a fading image of him on the screen. What could this mean? Well, Netflix has given some clue in their synopsis of the documentary saying “Bob Ross brought joy to millions as the world’s most famous art instructor. But a battle for his business empire cast a shadow over his happy trees” and there has been some speculation online that this is about how his business partners won a legal battle over the rights to all things Bob Ross. We’ll have to wait until the 25th to find out.
