Ms Parton has made the newsreels this week as it became common knowledge she has personally invested a heck of a lot of cash into the development of a vaccine for Covid-19. Academy award-winning director Ron Howard brings to life this screen adaptation of the memoir by J.D Vance, an ex-marine who finds himself dragged back into the very life he has tried to escape after a family crisis takes place. Academy-award nominee Amy Adams is brilliant as J.D’s troubled, drug-addicted mother, Bev and Glenn Close delivers yet-another astoundingly believable character in the grandmother; Mamaw. So much so, it’s difficult to remember that it is indeed Close, herself acting!
The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two
A couple of years ago Netflix dropped it’s Christmas offering ‘The Christmas Chronicles’ starring Kurt Russell as the man in red in a modern ‘Santa Clause’ drops into real-life, festive family movie. It went down a storm with reviews around the world of families feeling the Christmas spirit. Now Russell is back as Santa again in ‘The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two’. Darby Camp and Judah Lewis return as brother and sister duo Katie and Teddy Pierce and after the end of the original movie was met with excitement at the cameo part of Russell’s real-life wife Goldie Hawn as Mrs Claus, she’s back alongside her hubby in a starring role.
