One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge-watch! A Castle for Christmas

Brooke Shields plays Sophie, an American woman who has made a life for herself as an acclaimed author. In a bid to purchase her own castle in Scotland, Sophie meets Myles (Cary Elwes) and realises he is the reluctant vendor of the property. A battle of will ensues and the pair learn they may have more in common than they first thought. A Christmas feel-good romantic comedy.

Angèle, the Belgian pop star, takes a long hard look at her career to date in this musical documentary. Reflecting on her life as a pop-star she examines the highs and lows she’s experienced and looks at her plans for the future and how they’ve been shaped by her experiences. With footage of her musical career and personal candid interviews, Angele allows the camera and crew into her personal life to tell her story.

14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible

Nimsdai Purja, a successful mountain climber, takes on all 14 of the world’s greatest peaks of over 8000 metres in height in his latest challenge. Not content with that as a great feat within itself, Purja is fearless in his attempt to scale the mountain peaks in just seven months! With a team of supporters, Purja sets out to smash the target in this documentary film. Follow his progress as he attempts what is a physcial and emotional test of endurance.

Lead Me Home

In America, 500,000 inhabitants sleep without a roof over their heads every night of the year. Each of those inhabitants has a story to tell, a life once lived. This documentary follows some of those who have experienced or are experiencing homelessness and attempts to reach the viewer with their stories. The sheer magnitude of the homelessness crisis in America is on display in this shocking documentary that addresses some of the policies behind the situation. Directed by Jon Shenk and Pedro Kos.

The Power of the Dog

Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst deliver a mesmerising performance in this tale of woe. Phil Burbank, played by Cumberbatch, is a lone ranger. An angry man, dismayed at the presence of his brother’s new wife and her son as they arrive on the ranch. Burbank torments the lad much to the dismay of his mother until he finds himself questioning his own actions and discovering deeper emotions. The film is based on the 1967 novel of the same name by Thomas Savage and is written for the screen and directed by Jane Campion. Also stars Kodi Smitt McPhee and Jesse Plemons.
