Virgin River (Season Two)

The popular series ‘Virgin River’ returns this week for its second season. Whilst it doesn’t seem two minutes since the first season of the romantic drama series landed, fans would no doubt have me stand corrected as it first appeared this time last year! The series is adapted from the ‘Virgin River’ novels by author Robyn Carr. Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckinridge) is a nurse practitioner who moved to a remote town for a fresh start. The first season saw her meet and fall in love with the townspeople and the town itself not to mention love interest Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson). Season one left viewers thirsty for more with a love triangle involving Jack’s relationship with character Charmaine and season two picks up where that very awkwardly left off.

Dance Dreams: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker

Every year the dance academy hosts their version of ‘The Nutcracker’; ‘Hot Chocolate Nutcracker’. Dance teacher, director, performer and singer ‘Debbie Allen’ presses her students hard and expects results. For the students of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, the show is the highlight of the year with some taking part in repeated performances. The documentary follows the studio, the dancers and teachers to highlight the work that is involved and the successes it has produced in regard to those who go on to be professional dancers and in raising the profile of the school. Directed by Oliver Bokelberg.

Bastian Kollinger – Basti for short, is down on his luck. After splitting with his girlfriend he returns home to spend Christmas with his parents only to discover his brother has a surprise for him. As the family navigate issues thrown up in this comedy series, Bastian finds a new life with new friends whilst rebuilding his broken family relationships. A foul-mouthed grandmother throws some fun into the mix too. Bastian is played by German speaking, Canadian-Italian comedian and TV presenter, Lucas Edward Britton Mockridge.
