Dick Johnson is Dead

Filmmaker Kirsten Johnson is killing off her 86-year-old psychiatrist father. In a bid to detract from, whilst learning to accept the inevitable, Kirsten and her father have come together to produce this very funny and heartfelt approach to using film to help us come to terms with the facts of life that are heavy to burden – losing the ones we love. The film depicts Dick’s death happening in many different ways and the documentary following the film making depicts the journey they are on as a family as Dick’s memory loss becomes more profound. DICK JOHNSON IS DEAD was filmed, produced and directed by Kirsten Johnson, produced by Katy Chevigny and Marilyn Ness, co-produced by Maureen A. Ryan and executive produced by Megan Ellison. The film won a Documentary Special Jury Award at the Sundance Festival 2020.

David Attenborough: A Life on our Planet

At 93 years old David Attenborough is a national treasure in Britain and I’m sure around the world. Since he was a young man he has presented television to us that brings nature into our homes. This new film features Attenborough as he journeys through his life on screen looking at our planet to give us a stark honesty about what humans have done to the earth and its inhabitants. The trailer sees Attenborough offering us an answer in his film, to how we can halt if not reverse the damage caused by us human beings, “A way to work with nature and not against it”.

Hubie Halloween

Sandler returns to Netflix with his latest movie from ‘Madison Productions’ – ‘Hubie Halloween’. Sandler plays Hubie Dubois a Salem town resident whose main aim in life is to ensure the safety of the town’s population much to the frustration of the local law enforcement and most of the residents that seem him as a time-wasting do-gooder. When people start disappearing, it’s up to Hubie to convince the police and his fellow townsfolk that the monsters are real this time, and only he can stop them but with his reputation, nobody seems to want to listen. ‘Hubie Halloween’ is a hilarious family film (with mild peril) about an unlikely hero with an all-star cast including Julie Bowen, Kevin James, Kenan Thompson, Ray Liotta, Noah Schnapp, Maya Rudolph and of course Steve Buscemi.
