Christmas Crossfire

Edda convinces Sam (her new love interest) to accompany her on a road trip back to the isolated village where she grew up. Sam finds himself involved in an attempted murder and a chase ensues. Embroiled in the chaos of men fighting over a woman, Sam has lost Edda and must now find his survival instincts to avoid untimely death. Meanwhile, Edda is searching for Sam. Whilst the trailer tells us little but seemingly random and disconnected one-liners from the film, we are hoping this is a fast-paced, action-packed offering by director Detlev Buck. Stars Kostja Ullmann, Alli Neumann, Sascha Geršak, Merlin Rose, Sophia Thomalla, and Peter Kurth.

Twenty years of marriage to Leyla (Demet Akbag) has come to an end in his eyes, eyes he now only has for his young therapist and mistress, Nergis (Elcin Sangu) who agrees there is only one solution to Leyla’s refusal to divorce. After numerous failed attempts at faking an accidental death, it seems Leyla is intent on surviving and the unlikely couple steps up their game. The comedy film takes a turn when Adem finds himself in deeper as his actions gain the attention of his jealous lawyer Greed (Alican Yucesoy) and Mr. Mahdum (Firat Tanis) the man trying to get his hands on Adem’s valuable manuscript in the midst of the farce.

Director Jack Finch’s script for the original MANK, now adopted and brought to life by his son David Fincher in 2020 is produced by Ceán Chaffin, Douglas Urbanski, and Eric Roth and deep dives into the making of the film ‘Citizen Kane’. Herman J. Mankiewicz, actor-director turned screenwriter turns his talents to working alongside Orson Welles to finish the screenplay about a wealthy newspaper publisher Charles Foster Kane. The film is delivered in a vintage cinematic experience portraying the personal and professional antics of MANK and the film industry in general in 1930s Hollywood. Gary Oldman portrays the lead as a post-injury recovery patient and a drunk that has 60 days “and 30 days to noodle” a screenplay for what later became known as one of the masterpiece films of all time.
