All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from 4th June 2021)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge-watch! Breaking boundaries: The Science of our Planet

David Attenborough has teamed up with Professor of Environmental Science Johan Rockstrom to deliver this incredibly important documentary. Directed by Jonathon Clay the two experts on the natural world explain the state of the natural world presently and the fear for its future. Detailing how things have taken a turn for the worse and how we can improve the world we live in for the benefit of mankind. “The future is not determined, the future is in our hands”

Sweet Tooth

Based on the beloved DC Comic by Jeff Lemire, producers Susan Downey & Robert Downey Jr deliver ‘Sweet Tooth’. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where nature evolved and humans began being born with animal features. Aptly named hybrids, humans begin to hunt them but when a lone walker saves a deer-boy the two lost souls embark on an extraordinary adventure. Starring Christian Convery and Nonso Anozie.

Awake

When something mysterious happens resulting in a power outage globally, the world soon realises that the consequence is universal insomnia! When people don’t sleep, bad things happen. An ex-military woman Jill must protect her daughter who seemingly is the only person who can actually sleep. Suspecting she holds the key to this catastrophe, Jill’s mission is to get her safe and keep her safe but without sleep, the mind wobbles. Starring Gina Rodriguez.

Fresh, Fried and Crispy

Daym, Daym, Daym! The foodie that went viral back in 2012 with his food review of ‘Five Guys’ now has his own show! Daym Drops who found fame on YouTube with his channel started in 2009, travels all around the country to find the best unknown fried dishes coming from the streets, fancy restaurants, and home kitchens. It’s hard not to like the guy with his enthusiastic critique of fried food.

Trese

‘Trese’ is an anime series based on the award-winning Filipino comic by writer Budjette Tan and artist Kajo Baldisimo. Alexanda Trese is a specialist detective working with the police on all things supernatural and when dark forces are infiltrating the criminal underworld she must get to the bottom of it. Set in Manila, the series is a true anime horror with lots of violence and gore, hence the adult rating. Trese’s character is voiced by Canadian actress Shay Mitchell (in the American version) and Liza Soberano (in the Filipino version).
