All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from 5th February 2021)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge-watch! Malcolm and Marie

Filmmaker Malcolm is in a relationship with the love of his life, Marie. The film focusses on one evening as the couple return home from the premiere of his latest movie and friction occurs during conversations surrounding their relationship as they await news on how his works have been received critically. The film offers an artistic lens into the inner workings of the love between two people. It claims to be a story about love rather than a love story. Starring John David Washington and Zendaya.

Space Sweepers

A group of space travellers whose main mission is to collect anything of worth as they sweep through the solar system, like an Astro-bargain hunter team, find a strange discovery in their latest loot; a seven-year-old child! Discovering not all as it seems they believe there is a fortune to be made from this predicament and set out to claim it! Is the child really that dangerous? Are they about to find out? Check it out from Friday 4th February. Stars; Song Joong-Ki and Kim Tae-Ri.

Strip Down, Rise Up

Unlike the misleading title suggests, this is not a film about exotic dancers but a documentary showcasing a group of women as they learn not just how to climb the pole but also who they are as women and what they want to achieve both on the pole and in their lives. They discover things they never knew about themselves and embark on a journey to freedom that comes with addressing insecurities head-on and results in the confidence to love themselves and their bodies.

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at Cecil Hotel

The Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles has a reputation not envied by other establishments. There has been a shadow over the hotel for years as deaths and mysterious happenings have taken place, many in the public eye. Serial killers have stayed at the hotel too – it has a clear reputation as being a dark place. Now student ‘Elisa Lam’ is missing, last known whereabouts within the hotel! The video showing her last known movements is nothing short of spooky with her acting incredibly strange, including; unusual jerky movements and apparent hiding from something within the elevator. As the police attempt to get to the bottom of the disappearance of Elisa the documentary follows the case.

Red Dot

A couple attempt to reignite their love for one another with a romantic secluded camping trip but they soon realise they are definitely not alone. A laser dot appears in their tent and David and Nadja realise they are under threat and attempt to escape the relentless laser. ‘Alone’ in the icy Swedish wilderness, there is seemingly nowhere to escape and a chase ensues. Can they get to safety before the trigger is pulled? Intense thriller starring Nanna Blondell and Anastasios Soulis.
