Dealer

This new French series follows Franck, an aspiring filmmaker who has been asked by Tony (an aspiring rapper) to make an aspiring documentary about his life. That’s a lot of aspiration going on there. Tony turns out to be an actual, real-life- drug dealer living in the throws of a gangland drug war and Franck soon finds himself literally caught up in the gunfire. The found-footage genre of film making has come along way in recent years. It can certainly still be hit and miss between genius, in-the-moment, cinematography and shaky cameras that nauseate the audience but in this series, we’ll leave the verdict of the filming style to you. Will ‘Dealer’ be Netflix next French hit after ‘Lupin’? We’ll find out this week. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
