All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from 6th August 2021)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge-watch! Hit & Run

The series begins with the death of a young woman in Tel Aviv – a hit and run. When what seemed like an accident begins to unravel as something bigger, her husband must delve into his previous life to find the truth. Questioning who he is, as the reason for her death he finds more unanswered questions in her life and secrets kept from him. On his quest to find the truth, that may be exactly what he finds. Stars Lior Raz and Sanaa Lathan

The star of this family animated movie is the tiny Vivo – a kinkajou aka a honey bear. This adorable character is on a mission to deliver a love song from his owner Andres to his true love Marta. Of course, he meets new friends along the way and the journey becomes an adventure as he discovers the meaning of life and love and family in this new works from the director who brought us ‘The Croods’. The voice stars include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Juan De Marcos and the one and only Gloria Estefan.

Untold: Malice at the Palace

The first of this five-part documentary series focuses on the untold perspective of what happened on the night of 19th November 2004 at the basketball game between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons. The game took place at the Palace of Auburn Hills arena. That night a fight broke out between players and fans. To this day the story has only been told from the perspective of the fans and the players were not only punished but had their careers and their lives impacted indefinitely. Now it’s their turn to tell their side of the story. This series will see five episodes each with a ‘truth’ to tell from an untold perspective from within the sporting industry. An episode will land weekly over the coming month.

The Kissing Booth 3

The love story is back to make it a trilogy with this third instalment of the popular teenage drama. Despite the negative reviews of the first movie, the film has continued to grow in popularity – enough to make two further movies at least. In this third movie, Elle picks up where she left off – still stuck with the decision of where to go to college. Will she study alongside her best friend Lee or his older brother aka her boyfriend Noah. She has the summer to decide and as it is her last summer at the beach before college, Elle wants to make it count. Finding a bucket list she made with Lee when they were kids becomes her focus of fun but the big decision still awaits.

Lokillo: Nothing’s the Same

Lokillo Florez is a Columbian stand up comedian. After beginning his career as a presenter and gaining recognition with his radio show he now takes his stand up comedy stage show to a global audience via the Netflix platform. This show sees Lokillo talk about everything post-pandemic and how we simply can’t go back to “normal.” From hand-washing rituals to funny songs about life-changing things. Lokillo makes us smile as we emerge from tough times.

Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild

Netflix has announced its latest Netflix Anime Film – ‘Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild.’ The original Monster Hunter video game by Capcom for PlayStation 2 has seen numerous spin-off games, series, Japanese Manga and books and follows a feature film released in cinemas in 2020. The premise is a world where humans and monsters live side by side posing a persistent threat. In this new film, the protagonist Aiden must save his village from an elder dragon that is intent on destroying it.
