With his status as ‘academic royalty’, going up against him could prove disastrous. Is it a risk she is willing to take and is there a moral duty to do so, on behalf of the female students on campus? A he-said/she-said battle commences. Based on true events, the film addresses long-standing issues of abuse in authoritative positions where those in power hold the upper hand. Trial 4

Sean Ellis was arrested in 1993 at just 19 years old for the murder of police officer John Mulligan. ‘Trial 4’ documents Ellis’ original trials and his incarceration for 22 years whilst shining a spotlight on the alleged corruption of the Boston police force and fighting to clear his name. Sean Ellis enters his fourth court trial. After serving 22 years in prison he was released in 2015 when new evidence came to light. Now the prosecution is bringing the case to trial again citing evidence about how the case was handled not being made available to the defence. Ellis faces a clear and present danger of being re-incarcerated for the rest of his life. He and his defence team believe that is a further huge miscarriage of justice and maintain that he is innocent, as he has done throughout.
