All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from 7th May 2021)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge-watch! Jupiter’s Legacy

Based on the 2013 comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ is a brand new superhero story to our screens. The series is delivered in eight episodes and centres around ‘Elder Guard’ superheroes (first empowered in the 1930s) instructing their superhero adult children in the ways of saving the world. The youngsters have a lot to learn and their parents wonder if they are ready. We’ll find out with plenty of action along the way, no doubt.

Milestone

Ghalib is a lorry driver. He has been a driver for a long time but has set himself a milestone of 500,000 km on the road. Now he is suffering physical and emotional turmoil after losing a loved one alongside the chronic back pain with which he deals daily but he has not given up yet. This emotional movie exposes the life, thoughts and feelings of this man who has spent much of his time in solitude and must now share his journey with a young man who is likely to take over his job. Will he fix his physical pain, find answers to his bereavement and succeed in reaching his milestone? Stars Suvinder Vicky.

Monster

Executive producers John Legend, Nasir ‘Nas’ Jones and Jeffrey Wright come together to deliver this powerful movie inspired by the 1999 published novel of the same name by Walter Dean Myers. The movie follows young student Steve Harmon as he is navigating life at a good school as a photography and film student with great prospects but takes a wrong turn. As Harmon is embroiled in an incident that sees him charged with felony murder the court case that ensues is his only hope of freedom to continue his life as he knows it. Otherwise, he faces life in prison. With the stakes, this high, feelings run wild and this promises to be an emotional rollercoaster no doubt. Stars Kelvin Harrison Jr.

The Upshaws

…and now for some light entertainment! A brand new sitcom lands on Netflix this week with a full season of nine episodes to sink our teeth into. The Upshaws are a working-class family living in Indiana trying to navigate a blended family life and level up. This comedy series highlights the struggles in a comedic way that many can relate to. Stars Mike Epps, Wanda Sykes and Kim Fields.
