All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 10th January 2020)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge-watch! AJ and the Queen (Season One)

AJ (Izzy G) is a 10-year-old with a difficult life. On a mission to get to Texas, AJ convinces Robert (Ru Paul) who is down on his luck after losing all his finances and subsequently the dream of his own cabaret club, to take her with him as he embarks on his one-woman drag show tour, as his drag queen alter-ego ‘Ruby Red’. An outrageous, funny yet-touching story of two very different souls on a journey together. Expect huge laugh out loud and deep heartfelt moments in this ten-episode series ‘AJ and the Queen’.

Giri/Haji (Season One)

Kenzo (Takehiro Hira), a Japanese detective, leaves Tokyo in a bid to find his brother who is presumed dead. In London, he enlists help from unexpected places and his journey crosses paths with underground criminals. Embroiled in a complicated web of Duty and Shame (translation of ‘Giri/Haji’), Kenzo’s quest is fraught with danger. The series which had scripts written in Japanese and English comprises of eight episodes and streamed via the BBC in the UK in October 2019. Medical Police (Season One)

For those familiar with the alternative comedy series ‘Children’s Hospital’, this brand new series is a spin-off and looks set to have audiences roaring with laugh-out-loud moments and cringing at others. When doctors fight crime are they cop-doctors or doctor-cops? ‘Medical Police’ Crime-fighting doctors. What could go wrong! Compiled of parody moments from international spy thrillers, the series will feature 10 half-hour episodes on Netflix of pure farcical comedy.

The Healing Powers of Dude

When Noah faces his fears of joining middle-school he struggles more than most as a child with ‘Social Anxiety Disorder’. Overwhelmingly crippled by anxiety he relies on his emotional support dog ‘Dude’. Dude empowers Noah to make it through each day and as the viewers we get to hear Dude’s thoughts on Noah’s life, Noah, his family and his new pals cannot. Noah ventures through this new season of his life with much less trepidation with Dude by his side. This new series will no doubt be a must-watch for families that are journeying similar paths.

Grace and Frankie (Season Six)

The loveable ‘ex-wives’ are back only this time one of them is no longer an ex-wife! As Grace begins her new married life Frankie is convinced that their own friendship will not survive. That is until Grace finds herself in a compromised position in the bathroom that inspires the ladies to embark on, yet another entrepreneurial journey of invention, marketing and business. Perhaps they will be fine after all.
