Easy (Season Three)

Netflix presents the third and final season of the comedy-drama series ‘Easy’. The series, written and directed by Joe Swanberg, returns for season three after a seventeen-month long wait since season two arrived. Netflix has confirmed this will be the final season and so we expect any loose ends to be tied up between the intertwined lives of a group of friends in Chicago. Previous seasons have included sixteen episodes however it is unclear whether season three will feature only eight or (as is more likely) will also be sixteen but split into two bite-sized eight-episode chunks.

Remastered: The Lion’s Share [rescheduled for 17th May]

The music documentary series’ eighth instalment (or ‘track’ as Netflix has affectionately renamed its ‘Remastered’ episodes) ‘The Lion’s Share’ examines the case of the song ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ and uncovers the origins of its melody from South Africa. Showing how major western music production exploited the melody. The documentary directed by Sam Cullman follows the journey of South African journalist Rian Malan as he attempts to take on some of the biggest names in entertainment such as ‘Disney’ to bring home ‘The Lion’s Share’ of the profits back to where they belong, the direct descendants of Solomon Linda, a black South African man who wrote the original melody.

The Society (Season One)

Brand new series ‘The Society’ from the mind of Christopher Keyser explores the idea of what would happen if there were no adults! A small upper-class town of West Ham is plagued with a nauseating smell and the town’s youth is bussed into the safety of the mountains whilst an investigation occurs into this strange odour. When the busses return, the teens find themselves completely alone. Unsure whether they are in a replica town or their parents and in fact all adults have disappeared from their home town, they discover they are also enclosed off from the rest of the world. The only way to survive is to create a society of their own but in every society, there must be a hierarchy. The youths battle it out for power as they fight for survival in a way that has the viewer questioning the way the world works in this ‘Lord of The Flies’ inspired series.
