The film stars Roberto Quijano, Natalia Coronado, Juan Pablo Medina, Silvia Navarro and Victoria Viera.

The Duchess

Comedian Katherine Ryan presents her brand new sitcom ‘The Duchess’. Loosely (or perhaps not-so-loosely) based on her own London life as a single mother. The main character, played by Katherine and aptly also named ‘Katherine’ is a hap-hazard, no holds barred, mother with an attitude. She takes no crap from anyone whether at the school gates or the doctor’s surgery, as she navigates life and her desire to have a second child without a present partner. Exploring the options available we see Katherine repeatedly and begrudgingly need the input from her ex, the father of her child Olive, in more ways than one. The show is comprised of six, half-hour episodes and has been met with some heavy criticism from the TV world. Netflix seems keen to take it on board so perhaps, it is worth a try before we disregard entirely. Ryan is well known for her often shocking comedy and it worked for Ricky Gervais in ‘After Life’ so, why not? Let us know your thoughts on the controversial series that lands this week.

Pets United

One for the littlies this week with this 2019 animated film ‘Pets United’. Directed and written by Reinhard Klooss, this German/Chinese/American collaboration sees an unlikely pair of animal friends team up to save the city. When an evil mayor with his robot army plots to seize the city, Roger and Belle, a street-smart dog and a house cat must lead their pack of pet heroes to save the city. The plot sounds familiar, to say the least, and if you are thinking ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ then you might wanna lower your expectations. The movie has not managed to gain many good reviews but hey, what do the littlies care? Perfect opportunity for an adult nap, am I right? We wouldn’t wanna sway you though, I mean if you think it’s not all bad, let us know in the comments below.

Hope Frozen: A Quest to Live Twice

What if your child had an incurable disease? Would you consider cryogenically preserving them until a cure was found? Well in this new documentary, that is exactly what the parents of young Einz did. Judgement placed firmly to one side the film follows the scientist and his wife as the couple embark on an emotional rollercoaster of a journey in the life and temporary death of their precious daughter.

Michael McIntyre

Filmed as part of ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big World Tour’, McIntyre thrills audiences with his stories of avoiding shark attacks in Australia, New Zealanders’ strange relationship with vowels and the difference between performing for a US audience vs. a British audience but don’t worry Michael hasn’t ditched his household parenting tales, there are still many laughs to be had at his relatable parenting incidents. Whilst this is Michael McIntyre’s debut Netflix Stand Up Comedy Special, he is known worldwide for his floppy hair, funny walks and his quintessentially British accent and attitude to life. With his UK Christmas show and previous stand up tours, he is a household name in his homeland Britain and many other countries, to boot.
