Archive 81

A young man is approached for his skills as a video archivist. Tasked with restoring the works of director Melody Pendras, one of many who were tragically killed in the fire that damaged the videotapes, he finds himself on a journey to find out what happened to her and becomes convinced he can save her. With a paranormal feel, this series interjects with spirituality as it becomes apparent the works of a demonic cult were at play and being investigated by Pendras, the answers Dan Turner is looking for are sure to be in the recordings. To add to the suspense and eeriness of this thriller series, the restoration must take place at an old research facility as the tapes cannot be moved to avoid the risk of further damage. Stars Mamoudou Athie and Dina Shihabi.

The House

‘The House’ is an anthology of stories of three owners of the same house in different periods of time. The stories depict their attachments to the same house and how they made it home. Considered a dark comedy the film follows the stories of a poor family, a rich developer and a frustrated landlady, through each of their times in ‘The House’. Filmed in stop motion animation and directed by Emma de Swaef, Marc Roels, Niki Lindroth von Bahr and Paloma Baeza, the film is produced by Nexus Studios.

After Life

Ricky Gervais is back with the show that has had us all in tears of joy and heartache. Playing Tony, Gervais is the grieving husband and son who is finding his way back to humanity after battling his loss and the unfairness of it all. Helped by those around him, he is less alone than he believes and slowly he is finding his way back to a new way of living. The trailer alone is difficult to watch without feeling some emotion (although be warned of the explicit -as expected- language). We’re certainly glad it’s back for this third and final instalment – we’re definitely crying and so are you. Also stars, Ashley Jenson, Penelope Wilton, Mandeep Dhillon, Joe Wilkinson, Diane Morgan and of course Kerry Godliman.

Posing as a government spy Freegard was able to convince unsuspecting acquaintances to become friends and lovers and give him their world over a timescale spanning twenty years.
