Life Overtakes Me

Adam Sandler fans that believe he can do no wrong will no doubt believe he has done it again with this new movie produced for Netflix via his distribution deal. Those ‘Happy Gilmore’ fans who feel Sandler has had a few blips along the way of his career may possibly see this as his comeback. The movie is a modern-day farcical, Cluedo-style, ‘whodunnit’ and looks set to be full of laughs. Anniston and Sandler bounce off each other as seen in ‘Just Go With It’. In ‘Murder Mystery’ they play a long-time married couple who are offered the opportunity to join the elite passengers on board an exclusive ship only to find the millionaire that invited them is murdered and they are included in the suspects. Online media platforms declare it will be available globally which would seem to be true however Netflix themselves have technically deemed this as an ‘Original’ as opposed to a ‘Global Original’ so we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out for sure.

The Edge of Democracy
Disappointed at the current affairs, Brazillian film-maker ‘Petra Costa’ examines the rise and fall of political democracy in her home country. From a time when she first voted at 19 and believed in a change in Brazil until the current climate of corrupt politicians, a seemingly irreparable system and a severely divided, polarised society. A dissection of how rapidly democracy can fail. A cautionary tale to the western world perhaps. Interesting subject, relevant to everyone.
