We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.

Check out the trailers below and let us know what you’re looking forward to this week -full list of this week’s additions and regional availability at the end of the post. Netflix aren’t always that clear about geographical availability so please bear with us as we try to be as precise as possible about where Netflix Originals will be available. If in doubt titles will be listed simply as [Original].

Life Overtakes Me

Sweden has seen a number of young refugees become victim to a condition named ‘Resignation Syndrome’. Despite no other reported cases outside of Sweden, medical professionals believe the condition is caused by trauma experienced by the individual in their young lives. The documentary looks to explore the condition and why it behaves the way it does.

Murder Mystery

Adam Sandler fans that believe he can do no wrong will no doubt believe he has done it again with this new movie produced for Netflix via his distribution deal. Those ‘Happy Gilmore’ fans who feel Sandler has had a few blips along the way of his career may possibly see this as his comeback. The movie is a modern-day farcical, Cluedo-style, ‘whodunnit’ and looks set to be full of laughs. Anniston and Sandler bounce off each other as seen in ‘Just Go With It’. In ‘Murder Mystery’ they play a long-time married couple who are offered the opportunity to join the elite passengers on board an exclusive ship only to find the millionaire that invited them is murdered and they are included in the suspects. Online media platforms declare it will be available globally which would seem to be true however Netflix themselves have technically deemed this as an ‘Original’ as opposed to a ‘Global Original’ so we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out for sure.

Three teenage girls find themselves in the same rehabilitation programme after being caught red-handed in their obsession with shoplifting. Overcoming their differences they prove to be an invaluable support to each other in their life issues but encourage each other in their forbidden hobby.

Adam Devine: Best Time Of Our Lives

Devine in a different light to the stream of movies he has starred in delivers a jam-packed show from his home town in Omaha. Discussing relationships, acting and even how he landed his role in ‘Pitch Perfect’, Devine is animated and hilarious as ever.

Beats

Young teen ‘August Monroe’ (Khalil Everage) has become an anxiety-ridden recluse since the untimely death of his sister. Spending most of his time in his room making music, he is truant from school. When a school representative who also happens to be a music producer (handy huh?) visits August’s home and hears his talent, he has no choice but to mentor him in a musical career. But first “…to make it in this world he has to be in the world”.

The Edge of Democracy

Disappointed at the current affairs, Brazillian film-maker ‘Petra Costa’ examines the rise and fall of political democracy in her home country. From a time when she first voted at 19 and believed in a change in Brazil until the current climate of corrupt politicians, a seemingly irreparable system and a severely divided, polarised society. A dissection of how rapidly democracy can fail. A cautionary tale to the western world perhaps. Interesting subject, relevant to everyone.
