One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge-watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.

Love Netflix Originals? Well here’s our list of ‘Top Picks’ for this week. Check out the trailers below and let us know what you’re looking forward to this week -full list of this week’s additions and regional availability at the end of the post. Netflix aren’t always that clear about geographical availability so please bear with us as we try to be as precise as possible about where Netflix Originals will be available. “What if social media could save lives?” This documentary looks to connect people that are living with rare conditions and illnesses with other people who have the same symptoms and/or diagnosis. Dr Lisa Sanders has written regular articles in her column in The New York Times Magazine for fifteen years trying to help people with rare conditions. Now she is teaming up with parents and individuals to use the internet to find answers from other people worldwide!

Mindhunter (Season Two)

The popular crime series is back for a second run this week. The second season was announced before the airing of the first so it was no surprise however there has been a degree of radio silence around its narrative. Netflix has now released the trailer and synopsis. The show will cover the series of murders that took place in Atlanta from 1979-1981 and saw the lives of children, teens and adults all of whom were African-American. Whilst many of the original cast look set to return, Cameron Britton as imprisoned serial killer Ed Kemper has not been confirmed (despite the trailer nod towards his appearance), there are also a number of newcomers including Damon Herriman who is cast to appear as the notorious Charles Manson. Coincidentally he also plays the same part in Tarrantino’s latest movie!

Available globally from Friday 16th August 2019

Marlon Wayans stars as well pretty much everybody in this, ‘Big Momma’s House’ style comedy film. After discovering he was one-sixth of sextuplets at birth, Alan sets out on a journey to find his siblings, Russell, Ethan, Baby Pete, Jaspar and Dawn. Slapstick, done-before, comedy that still has a place on our TV screens and in our hearts, ‘Sextuplets’, landing on netflix this week.

Available in selected regions from Friday 16th August 2019

Simon Amstell: Set Free

Not completely new to viewers as Amstell’s previous show ‘Numb’ is available to stream on Netflix in selected regions but ‘Set Free’ will be his debut Netflix Special. Originally named ‘What is This?’ the stand-up show is filmed in Hackney, London at EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney) a creative arts venue. The show was filmed as part of a live UK tour by the British comedian, author and filmmaker, in May 2019 and includes subjects such as love, ego and coming out to his dad.

Hyperdrive (Season One)

This competition reality TV show looks set to offer some exhilarating fun. The show is set in an industrial complex that has been developed into huge obstacle courses, ten to be precise, which competitors must complete against the clock in their vehicles. Those taking part hail from all walks of life but during this competition, they are race car drivers. ‘The most spectacular car competition on earth’ is something else. If you like cars, you like speed and you like obstacles, then this is for you!
