One of the great things about Netflix are their Netflix Originals – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round up of new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Wednesday evening with what will be available over the coming week starting the following Friday. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.
Marvel’s The Defenders

Starring Sigourney Weaver as villain ‘Alexandra’, die hard Marvel fans look set to be in for a treat.
Available Friday 18th August 2017.
What Happened to Monday?
In an opposite to The Handmaids Tale type scenario, the thriller ‘What Happened to Monday’ is set in a time not too far in the future when the world is over populated and together with famine is causing huge environmental problems and the general population are restricted by the government to the ‘one child rule’. Willem Defoe plays the grandfather of septuplets who is raising them to share one identity to save them. In the comfort and secrecy of their own home they can be themselves. Named after the seven days of the week the girls are allowed to leave their home to explore the world on the one day of the week that matches their name. They all assume the identity of ‘Karen Settman’ (the name of their mother) played by Swedish actor Noomi Rapace (she plays all seven girls). With the Child Allocation Bureau, and it’s uncompromising director ‘Nicolette Cayman’ (Glenn Close) hot on their heels, the girl’s world is shaken when their sister ‘Monday’ doesn’t return home from her day out! The trailer reminded me of ‘Orphan Black‘ with multiple identical siblings in hiding etc and I kept expecting someone to shout “Sistre”. Let’s hope it’s as good a watch as the trailer portrays as I’m quite looking forward to this one myself.
Available from Friday 18th August 2017
The cgi animated children’s series based on the illustrated children’s books by Chris Gall features main character Ty Rux and friends. The characters are part dinosaur, part construction vehicles and which child doesn’t want to see that combination and follow their adventures?! Clearly not many given this is season five. This new season of the much loved children’s show is available from Friday 18th August 2017.
Lynne Koplitz: Hormonal Beast
Another addition to the stand up comedy specials Netflix has now added is Lynne Koplitz’s Netflix stand up comedy debut ‘Hormonal Beast’. Filmed at the Kaye Playhouse, New York City to a large audience, Koplitz’s comedy show focuses on women and life with hormones!
