One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.

Check out the summary at the end of the post for the full list of additions and here’s our ‘Top Picks’ for this week…

Making a Murderer (Season Two)

It’s back! The documentary series that made Netflix the go-to for crime documentaries. For those not yet acquainted with the series, Steven Avery and his family owned a salvage yard in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin in 1985. Avery was tried and jailed for two decades for a crime he was later exonerated of and freed from jail. When he sued those responsible for his conviction he suddenly found himself back behind bars for murder along with his nephew Brendan. In 2015 the 10-episode Netflix series documented the trial and uncovered some of the truths behind the conviction. Season one sparked a fan base never before seen in the realms of documentary and now season two returns and is sure to pick up a new fan base as well as the original followers.

Derren Brown: Sacrifice

Derren Brown is an illusionist that has been gracing the entertainment world for twenty years. Starting out his career as a magician that astounded audiences with weird and wonderful tricks of the mind, Brown’s acts have become more and more mind-bending and elaborate, spiraling into a completely different type of act altogether. His shows now focus majorly on ‘disproving God’ and ‘controlling people’ to the extremes. Brown’s work is becoming more and more controversial and whilst he has a huge fan base he also has an increasing group of viewers that find his God complex disturbing. Love him or hate him; you decide. Let us know your thoughts on this latest show where he attempts to hypnotise a man into acting as a hero in a truly terrifying situation.

Available Friday 19th October 2018

Continuing the horror additions for October (mentioned last week), this weeks horror offering is ‘Haunted’, the series that features real-life horror encounters. Interviews with ‘real life people’ telling their stories of the fascinatingly terrifying.

Available Friday 19th October 2018

When long-time married couple Alan and Joy (Steven Mackintosh and Toni Collette) hit a rough patch of boredom in the bedroom they decide (much to their grown-up children’s dismay) to liven things up by seeing other people (as you do)! The complexities of an open relationship soon become apparent despite the rekindling of their bedroom antics together. ‘Wanderlust’ is the first of this weeks BBC dramas that have already aired in the UK and have received great reviews.

Available Friday 19th October 2018

Sandler is back on stage with ‘100% Fresh’ stand up comedy material. Netflix is awash with movies both starring and directed by Sandler or produced by his production company but here he is back on stage. Performing in front of live audiences from concert halls to underground stations, Sandler brings his musical comedy on tour.

Available Tuesday 23rd October 2018

The UK’s BBC has done it again with this drama about an ex-soldier turned police security expert assigned to protect the British home secretary. The explosive series is full of unexpected twists and edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting drama and we can vouch for that as it has already aired on British TV. Don’t miss the fantastic series that everyone in the UK is talking about. Starring Keeley Hawes and Richard Madden, the easily binge-watchable six-episodes are from the same people that brought us ‘Line of Duty’and will no doubt leave you desperate for a season two!
