All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 21st September 2018)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.

As Netflix increase their Original content, here’s our ‘Top Picks’ list for this week (Full summary of additions at the end of the post).

The Good Cop

Tony Caruso Jn (Josh Groban) is a cop that plays by the rules, always. Tony Caruso Sr (Tony Danza) (so many Tonys!) is a cop who has served time for not playing by the rules. Now that he is out of jail and in a bid to redeem himself to his son and the police force, Tony Sr ‘assists’ his son on his latest case and attempts to educate his son on his way of handling life in the process. The series is based on the original Israeli series of the same name by Erez and Tomer Avriam.

Available Friday 21st September 2018

Hilda

Animated Series based on the graphic novel by Luke Pearson. Hilda (Bella Ramsey) is the adventure-loving, explorer girl who loves the magical wilderness that is her home. Accompanied by Twig, her trusty dog and not without her trusty sketchbook, Hilda sets out on the biggest adventure of all as she embarks on a family move with her mum (Daisy Haggard) to the city. Convinced her new home will not be a patch on her previous surroundings Hilda discovers that the world is a very big place indeed with mysterious creatures and adventures that are just waiting for her.

Available Friday 21st September 2018

Maniac

‘Black Mirror’-Esque ‘Maniac’ follows Annie and Owen (Emma Stone and Jonah Hill) as they agree to take part in a pharmaceutical trial. Annie and Owen are just two of ten subjects that are strangers but find themselves mysteriously drawn to each other when under the influence. With the promise of no ill effects and the promise of all of their problems being solved the two participants discover all is not as it first appeared. It rarely is. Labelled as an American mini-series ‘Maniac’ consists of just 10 episodes. As far as the British producers are concerned that would make it a regular series in the UK.

Available Friday 21st September 2018

Nappily Ever After

Violet Jones (Sanaa Lathan) is a confident, career woman in a great relationship with a good looking doctor and seems to be winning at life when a turn of events take place in her life added to by a hair disaster at the salon. Violet begins to reassess who she is and what she wants out of life in this ‘finding herself’ movie based on the book of the same name by Trisha R Thomas. Lathan also co-produced the film.
