All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 23rd March 2018)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! New coming of age comedy drama series with a twist. Alexa is fighting cancer but with best friend Katie’s help they can achieve anything, even starting high school.

Requiem

British ghost story ‘Requiem’ is available globally barring the UK where it is available on BBC iPlayer. The series follows the story of Matilda Grey, an upcoming star in the world of classical music as a cellist. Her world unravels as the turn of events shows she is not quite who she thinks she is and along with her friend they chase the answers in this six part series. The story has twists and turns that are difficult to predict with unusual happenings around every corner.

Layla M

Dutch film maker Mijke de Jong presents the story of a young Moroccan woman living in Amsterdam. Surrounded by Islamaphobia she marries a jihadist and they relocate to Jordan where she struggles to adapt to a very different way of life in a world that is not as free as she believed it would be. As her whole belief system is challenged she must make decisions about her future.

The Mechanism (AKA O Mecanismo)

From the makers of Netflix series ‘Narcos’ comes this political drama series, inspired by the biggest corruption scandal of all time in Brazil. The Lava Jeto investigation. In this eight-episode, Brazilian drama, a small group of investigators are tasked with leading the investigation into the corporate corruption of the oil and construction companies in Brazil.

Game Over Man

Slapstick comedy starring Adam Devine. Three men are trapped in a hotel as it is taken hostage and must fight for survival. Mindless violence and comedy in equal measures are the order of the day with this Netflix movie.
