Don’t Look Up
When two astronomers make an astounding discovery that the end is literally nigh, you’d think the world would pay attention. Unfortunately, they are treated like the news is below their paygrade, which of course it is, and now they must convince the world of the impending danger. Using the media they attempt to leak the information and inform the masses of their doom but things don’t go as planned as everybody seems a little lethargic in their response. How can they save the world when the world doesn’t want to be saved? An interestingly relative narrative there alone. ‘Don’t Look Up’ stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence amongst a host of other big-name actors.

Jimmy Carr: His Dark Material
Dark indeed, Carr presses all the ‘wrong’ buttons in his Netflix Stand Up Comedy Special that has you feeling guilty for laughing. Addressing vaccine propaganda and sexism amongst other serious topics, enraging some whilst inducing serious laughter from others, if not at the same time. Released on Christmas Day, Jimmy Carr’s ‘Dark Material’, Jimmy’s third Special on Netflix, is a great way to finish the day after a family feast/feud and if his jokes don’t get you, his infectious laughter is bound to!

Death to 2021
After the success of ‘Death to 2020’, this new mockumentary film ‘Death to 2021’ stars Hugh Grant, Lucy Liu, Tracey Ullman, Stockard Channing, Cristin Milioti, Diane Morgan and Nick Mohammed, to name but a few, as themselves alongside fictional characters. ‘Gemma’ (Dianne Morgan) tells of her year and how it went down. Includes archival footage from the year’s news and events and interviews and sketches with A-list celebrities. A great way to celebrate the end of yet another terrible year.
