All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 25th August 2017)

One of the great things about Netflix are their Netflix Originals – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round up of new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Wednesday evening with what will be available over the coming week starting the following Friday. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week long Netflix binge watch! Death Note

Based on Japanese Manga, ‘Death Note’ is the story of a young man who discovers a note book with the power to kill whomever is written in it. High school student ‘Light Turner’ (Nat Wolff) along with his love interest ‘Mia Sutton’ (Margaret Qualley) begins taking it upon himself to right the world by removing it of it’s criminals. When detective ‘L’ (Keith Stanfield) is on the case, Light’s God-like actions must face consequences.

The Mist

When a strange fog descends on a small town, it’s residents work together to figure out what is going on. What they learn in the process is that ‘The Mist’ is much more than it seems. Based on the Stephen King novel this is the series’ second US run and first non-US run and consists of ten episodes.

Disjointed

The first season of this comedy series focuses on a small business with a difference. Starring Kathy Bates as ‘Ruth’ the eccentric owner of the Los Angeles cannabis dispensary. As a lawyer and activist campaigning for legalisation of the drug, Ruth and her twenty-something son along with three employees and a security guard provide a service to the marijuana hooked community whilst feeding their own habit. From the creators of ‘Two and a Half Men’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory.’

Dragons; Race to the Edge (Season 5)

Children’s animated series ‘Dragon; Race to the Edge’ (which for those of us who don’t know, is a spin off from hit Dreamworks movie ‘How To Train Your Dragon’) will be returning for it’s fifth season on Netflix. Kids in love with all things Dragon will no doubt be pleased to hear of the new season added in which there’s a new villain who can control the dragon’s! Hiccup and Toothless must work together with riders old and new to battle the new villain to save the dragons future.

Ryan Hamilton: Happy Face

Stand Up Comedy Special time! It’s getting rare that we have two weeks on the trot without a new stand up comedy special addition. This week Ryan Hamilton’s show filmed at The Kaye Playhouse, New York, is the latest addition. Aptly named ‘Happy Face’ the show focuses on Ryan’s consistently happy profile and all he encounters as he moves from a small Idaho town to the Big Apple as a single man with a very happy face!
