All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 3rd August 2018)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.

As Netflix increase their Original content, here’s our ‘Top Picks’ list for this week (Full summary of additions at the end of the post).

Brij Mohan Amar Rahe

Brij is down on his luck, playing away from home and about to lose everything. It seems like a rather large loan from some unscrupulous loan shark is the answer but when he can’t repay, his life is on the line and he has no choice but to fake his own death. Unfortunately someone had to take the blame for his death – the person with the identity he assumed!

Available Friday 3rd August 2018

Cocaine Coast

It seems as though Netflix is becoming a little infatuated with the origins of the Cocaine trade with Netflix documentaries on the subject, not to mention, fans of series Narcos’ currently awaiting a fourth season.  This new series; ‘Cocaine Coast’ takes us back to 1980’s Spain where a young man seizes the opportunity of his career as a small-time fisherman to become a big-time smuggler of Cocaine. The status and finances that this position brings changes his life in every way, as the Latin American suppliers demands increase in their bid to infiltrate Europe.

Available Friday 3rd August 2018

Like Father

When Rachel (Kristen Bell) is jilted at the alter on her wedding day she unsurprisingly gets very drunk with an unlikely drinking partner; the father she has not seen since she was five-years-old (Frasier’s Kelsey Grammar). When she awakens on a cruise ship the following day, she is astounded to find she has taken her dad in replacement of her new husband on what was supposed to be their honeymoon! What better way to get to know your estranged father and forge a father-daughter bond than to be out at sea together after being abandoned by the groom on your wedding day! This comedy looks set to bring laughter and tears on board as it sets sail on Netflix this week. (See what we did there…on board, sets sail…oh alright we’ll stop now)

Available Friday 3rd August 2018

Season one of this new series ‘Life’ is centred around a university medical centre where a young, powerful and determined clinical director begins a harsh regime in his new role. Up against the clinical staff, his role becomes far more difficult. One ER doctor on the front line, dealing with patients face to face, decides to make a stand for what is right.

Available Saturday 4th August 2018

On Children

This series focuses on what seems to be a ‘Black Mirror’-esque narrative following a mother who is desperate to help her son achieve his grades at school and become the man she wants him to be and in her bid to control him she finds an organisation that will help her do just that – control her child!
Available Saturday 4th August 2018

Better Call Saul

The AMC network’s prequel to ‘Breaking Bad’ is in its third year and the fourth season of the popular show is due to drop onto Netflix this week. ‘Better Call Saul’ follows the life of Jimmy McGill before he became the infamous Saul Goodman of the series ‘Breaking Bad’. As a small time lawyer McGill (Bob Odenkirk) is introduced into the criminal world fans have become accustomed to seeing him operate in. Season four of the award winning show will include ten episodes and fans are already claiming it looks to be the best in the series yet.
