One of the great things about Netflix are their Netflix Originals – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.
As Netflix become even more cryptic about geographical availability please bear with us as we try to be as precise as possible about the regions Netflix Originals are available.
So you’ve survived Christmas, the unwanted visitors and gifts, civilized meals at the table with the posh plates and cutlery and now here we are. That joyous time between Christmas and new Year when nobody knows what day it is, everyone has eaten their body weight in left over food and chocolate and we’ve watched ‘regular’ TV, reacquainting ourselves with ad breaks and cursing them as they make each program last three times longer. Now as we fast approach 2018, we at New On Netflix HQ would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year.
Here’s this weeks round-up of Netflix Original additions…
Black Mirror (Season Four)
It’s back! Ever since we all cringed and watched through our fingers a fictional prime minister do ‘the deed’ with a pig we’ve all been hooked on Charlie Brooker’s mind-blowing look at the world and its demise at the hands of us, humans. This season brings us six episodes that Brooker claims contain “strikingly different tones and looks.” The series episodes titled , ‘Crocodile‘, ‘Arkangel‘, ‘Hang the DJ‘, ‘USS Callister‘, ‘Metalhead‘ and ‘Black Museum‘, are directed by some big names in the world of directing TV and film such as Colm McCarthy, Jodie Foster and Tim Van Patton. Here at New On Netflix HQ we are super excited about Black Mirror Season Four and of course it’s on our binge watching list. Heck we might even cancel all our NYE plans and see in the new year contemplating the darkness that is the world we live in. What a way to begin 2018! 😉
Since November, Netflix have been releasing trailers for each episode so we thought we’d share a couple with you as well as the main trailer for the series…
Available Friday 29th December 2017
Bill Nye Saves The World (Season Two)
Bill Nye returns, along with his trademark bow tie, in this scientific talk show. Dispelling myths and anti-scientific arguments with scientific evidence, this entertaining show includes a panel of guests and special correspondents.
“It’s not magic – it’s science!”
Available Friday 29th December 2017
Lovesick (Season Three)
Season One of the show when it was then titled ‘Scrotal Recall’ was commissioned and produced by British TV network Channel 4. Netflix took control and produced a season two and bravely changed the name to a much safer title and ‘Lovesick’ was RE-born. The seasons are reasonably short in length in comparison to other comedy drama series with 6-8 episodes per season and we expect season three to be around the same. Main character Dylan (Johnny Flynn) is tasked with finding and informing his exes of his Chlamydia diagnosis and along this unconventional journey we see his relationship with his two best friends/flatmates (Daniel Ings and Antonia Thomas) blossom. Funny and emotional in a way that British comedy does best, Lovesick is sure to hit you in the feels.
