All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 2nd February 2018)

One of the great things about Netflix are their Netflix Originals – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.

As Netflix become even more cryptic about geographical availability please bear with us as we try to be as precise as possible about the regions Netflix Originals are available.

A collaboration between Universal Cable Productions and Netflix saw ‘Damnation’ air on US television network USA in November 2017 and Netflix viewers will have access to it this week in it’s first non-us run. The series stars Killian Scott as Seth Davenport, an Iowa preacher (or so it seems) that intends to start an uprising of the poor and downtrodden against the rich and powerful. When a tycoon instructs Creeley Turner (Logan Marshall-Green) to stop the revolution in its tracks it becomes apparent Davenport and Turner have a chequered shared history. From the producers who brought us ‘Longmire’ Logan and Game of Thrones, Damnation is set in the western heartland of 1930’s America. Be warned though the series has at present been cancelled following season one.

Available Friday 1st February 2018

Altered Carbon

You’ve probably seen the billboard posters of a grown man in a fetal position and wondered what ‘Altered Carbon’ is all about. Based on the 2002 novel of the same name, the sci-fi series set in the future is ten episodes long. Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman) wakes after a very long (250 year) sleep to find he now has a new body and is tasked with solving the murder of the richest man in the world in return for his freedom to remain in the world in his new ‘sleeve’. In his memories Kovacs is played by Will Yun Lee.

Recommended by British newspaper ‘The Guardian’ and nominated for this years Oscars for best foreign language film, On Body & Soul is an Hungarian love story with an unusual twist. Luna Petunia: Return to Amazia (Season One)

Much loved children’s series Luna Petunia is back with a slight change. With three seasons of Luna already available in full on Netflix, this is not season four but ‘Return to Amazia’ Season one. We have no idea why the gang must ‘Return to Amazia’ or why they left in the first place but it’s young fan base can rest assured the characters are back for all new adventures.

Queer Eye

“The original show was fighting for tolerance, this show is fighting for acceptance.” ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’ is back, re-labelled as simply ‘Queer Eye.’ The show was actually re-named this after season three of the original series but Netflix seem to be ignoring this in promoting the new re-vamped show. In this Netflix original version of the series the ‘Fab Five’ gay men will offer practical help and advice to a number of individuals on their fashion, style, diet and interior design in this makeover-style show.
