Miss Americana

If you’ve been living in a cave you may be excused for not knowing that Taylor Swift is an accomplished American singer/songwriter. But many may not know that she was signed by Sony records as their youngest ever recording artist, signing a record deal at the tender age of just 15 years old. Since then she has travelled the world performing at sell-out arena concerts and events but Swift encountered a shift as she really matured into adulthood. In this revealing documentary, she talks about her past, troubling personal events, sexual assault and her road to using her voice and platform for good in areas such as politics. The documentary takes a walk with Taylor Swift ‘behind the scenes’ of her public life.

Ragnarok

Tapping into the Norse mythology of ‘Ragnarok’ the battle to end all battles of the gods, this Netflix series with the same name strives to create its own version of events. The story is a coming-of-age drama set in the fictional town of Edda where the inhabitants are not all they seem. As the world experiences spiralling climatic events having a devastating impact globally, the people of this Norwegian small town realise their full potential. So it begins – Ragnarok unless there is one who can stop it!

Uncut Gems

Filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie create intrigue and suspense in this dramatic crime thriller starring Adam Sandler. ‘Uncut Gems’ has seen early critics noting how nice it is to see Adam Sandler once again, step out of his more predictable roles. ‘Uncut Gems’ follows Sandler’s character ‘Howard’ – a jeweller with too many habits and a crazy lifestyle. Howard finally hits the big-time with a rare 600ct black opal diamond.  Sandler will no doubt bring a flare to the character amidst the seriousness of such a genre but can Howard balance all aspects of his life long enough to cash in big-time?

I am a Killer (Season Two)

A second season of the documentary series ‘I am a Killer’ is landing this week.
