All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 5th July 2019)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.

Love Netflix Originals? Well here’s our list of ‘Top Picks’ for this week. Check out the trailers below and let us know what you’re looking forward to this week -full list of this week’s additions and regional availability at the end of the post. Netflix aren’t always that clear about geographical availability so please bear with us as we try to be as precise as possible about where Netflix Originals will be available. If in doubt titles will be listed simply as [Original].

Welcome to this weeks Netflix Originals blog. It seems everyone at Netflix may be focussing on a little series known as Stranger Things (out TODAY – as if you didn’t already know) as this week’s new content is much shallower than we have become accustomed to of late. Nevertheless here we are so let’s dive right in…

Free Rein (Season Three)

The immensely popular pre-teen equine drama series is back for its third series (not including the ‘Special Episodes’ that have been released at pretty much every holiday since its inception). Youngsters will be pleased to know that the show returns with most of the original cast for more drama surrounding the young championship hopefuls. The team have grown up but have they grown apart and the big question is will Zoe and Pin go the distance?

Available globally from Saturday 6th July 2019

Aziz Ansari: RIGHT NOW

The controversy surrounding comedian and actor Aziz Ansari during the uprising of the #MeToo movement has meant his screen presence has been limited however he has continued to perform live stand up shows from which this special was created. It has been reported by audience members that Ansari does address the allegations made against him last year, in his show, but it is unclear whether this will form part of the Netflix special. ‘RIGHT NOW’ (an apt title that seems to nod at focusing on the present rather than the past) is Ansari’s first Stand-Up Comedy Special for Netflix since 2015. Viewers still call for the return of his series ‘Master of None’ by way of a third series and whilst neither Netflix nor Ansari have ruled it out, it’s certainly not on the cards for the near future.

Available globally from Tuesday 9th July 2019

Parchis: The Documentary

Netflix documentary film taking a look behind the scenes of famous child stars of the Spanish pop band ‘Parchis’. With interviews with the, now adult, band members and crew involved in the productions, tour and general management. The film explores what life was like from the inside for those who grew up in the limelight of this popular young band that had global success during the 1980s.

Available in selected regions from Wednesday 10th July 2019

Family Reunion (Part One)

The McKellan family is one large multi-generational black family all living together under one roof in this comedy series ‘Family Reunion’. After moving to Georgia from Seattle to be with extended family, the members of this now large household must learn to get along together despite being worlds apart in time and space and values in this funny and heartwarming series.

Cities of Last Things

An interesting movie that was an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival 2018. The film runs scenes in reverse-chronological order showcasing one man’s torment and how he came to make a life-changing decision he must now live with.
