All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 5th October 2018)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! This area is exclusively for Netflix Originals, for general Netflix additions and removals or to view the current full catalogue check out your regional New On Netflix website.

As Netflix increase their Original content, here’s our ‘Top Picks’ list for this week (Full summary of additions at the end of the post).

Dancing Queen

Dancing Queen is a series documenting the personal and professional life of the champion dancer and dance teacher Justin Johnson also known as his drag alter-ego Alyssa Edwards. The series follows the students, parents and the competition at Johnson’s dance school Beyond Belief, in Mesquite, Texas. Drama, tears, and lots of dancing, this is Dancing Queen.

Available Friday 5th October 2018

Las Encinas is a private school where the pupils are from an elite social standing. When an earthquake destroys a nearby state school, its pupils are disbanded between neighbouring schools. Three pupils are given places at Las Encinas. Adapting to life at such a different educational setting was never going to be easy but now there’s been a murder and guess who are the prime suspects.

Available Friday 5th October 2018

Little Things (Season Two)

Dhruv and Kavya are a young, unmarried, cohabiting, couple trying to grow individually as well as strengthening their relationship. The series is a beautifully crafted look at what happens to ‘soul mates’ when the soul gets weary and the everyday mundane creeps in.

Available Friday 5th October 2018

Well, it might not be Halloween yet but we are in the right month at least for this terrifying ghost story. When a group of teenage ‘ghost hunters’ thinks they can fool a paying customer that they have ‘hunted the ghost’ things take a different turn as they discover the inhabitants of the ex-orphanage aren’t ready to disappear. There’s something terrifying about ghost kids (heck that’s why there are so many of them in horror films) we couldn’t make it past 1:15 of the trailer. Let us know how far you get and/or what you thought of the whole film IF you made it all the way through!

Available Friday 5th October 2018

Private Life

This emotional and yet funny story is of a couple in their 40’s who are desperate for a child and fear they may have missed their chance meet a young woman who comes to stay with them. The film is an intimate look at the infertility struggles many people face as they attempt IVF and look at adoption. Having another person in their apartment makes them look afresh at what they have good and bad and their new flat-mate could hold the answers.

Available Friday 5th October 2018

22 July

In 2011, 77 people were killed in a horrific terrorist attack in Norway. A lone terrorist detonated a bomb and then opened fire at a youth camp. This film is the dramatisation of what happened that fateful day and the events that unfolded after primarily, through the eyes of one the attendees of the youth camp, as he and the rest of the country struggle to come to terms with what happened and stand up to the perpetrator.
