Kevin Hart’s Guide To Black History

Kevin Hart’s name has graced our social media again this week as the announcement was made that he will not be replaced as this year’s host at the Oscars. The comedian stood down from the role back in December after he was called out regarding his Twitter account and homophobic tweets dating back to 2010, that have not yet been removed. The comedian has released an apology saying he is not the person he was back then. This week sees the comedy special ‘Kevin Hart’s Guide To Black History’ arrive on Netflix. The show sees him explaining to his young daughter that black history isn’t all about slavery and focuses on the achievements of some of the most iconic, black, historical figures of all time. Has Kevin Hart redeemed himself with this highly educational and comedic show? We’ll leave that up to you to decide…

Dirty John

So if you binge-watched Netflix Original ‘You’ recently then here is another obsessively infatuated, reasonably good looking, dangerous man who manages to hoodwink a woman much to the dismay of everyone around her. This time John Meehan (Eric Bana) is a man of age (he should definitely know better) who seduces businesswoman Debra Newell (Connie Britton). Think ‘You’ for the ‘rents in this disturbingly true ‘love story’ that highlights the dangers of online dating. ‘Dirty John’ graces our subscriptions this valentines day. The series is based on the True Crime Podcast of the same name and will consist of just eight episodes. Whether you’re looking for some “Netflix and Chill” or are comfort eating cookie dough ice cream (it is THE best flavour right?) alone in your pyjamas, this series is bound to have you hooked. Can you shoe-horn eight episodes into one day and more importantly do you have enough ice cream? Valentine’s Day 2019 done!
