All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 9th March 2018)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge watch! A.I.C.O Incarnation

It is the year 2037 in this Anime series. Two years since, what is commonly known as; ‘The Burst’ and Aiko Tachibana is still coming to terms with the loss of her family as a result. Teaming up with a new pupil at her school, the 15-year-old learns she holds a secret and must re-visit the events to piece together the puzzle.

Nailed It

We’ve all had our own ‘Nailed It’ moments. Moments where we try to recreate seemingly easy tasks from Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube only to find that our end result didn’t quite live up to the expectation. Now here’s the chance to revel in the fact that we are not alone. In this series amateur bakers with little experience face off professionals as they attempt to recreate masterpieces in the kitchen.

The Outsider

Jared Leto stars as an American soldier released from prison in a post world war II Japan. To repay his cell mate who was instrumental in orchestrating his release, he joins the Yakuza, an organised worldwide crime syndicate with a strict set of rules. ‘The Outsider’ is a film about organised crime and does contain violence as does the trailer.

Collateral

More British crime drama in ‘Collateral’. Available globally except the UK where it is has already aired on BBC Two and is currently available in full on BBC iPlayer. The series is set in South London, a pizza delivery man is killed in what at first sight appears to be a random act of violence but as the story unfolds and the characters seem surprisingly intertwined, the establishment becomes increasingly the object of suspicion. Written by multi-award winning screenwriter David Hare and directed by SJ Clarkson (Marvel’s Jessica Jones and The Defenders).

Annihilation

Science fiction horror story written and directed by Alex Garland. Garland is most famed for his writing of the novel ‘The Beach’ and his subsequent screenplay writing (28 Days Later) and as a director (Ex-Machina). In this story adapted from the novel also titled ‘Annihilation’ Jeff VandeMeer, an ex soldier and cellular biology professor Lena (Natalie Portman) is tasked with finding answers after her husband returns from what is known as ‘The Shimmer’ an area kept secret by the government. As Lena’s husband Kane becomes ill she is recruited to explore ‘The Shimmer’ which she agrees to in order to find answers in order to help him recover. Also starring Jennifer Jason-Leigh.

Ricky Gervais: Humanity

Love him or hate him (the British public are divided), British comedian Ricky Gervais is back in his primary role as stand up comic in this special filmed at Hammersmith Apollo, London. ‘Humanity’, recorded in front of a large audience at the British home of stage comedy, covers topics such as parenting and growing old.
