Antoine Fuqua Signs First-Look Deal with Netflix for Films and Documentaries

Netflix has partnered with filmmaker Antoine Fuqua continuing his relationship with the studio after the highly-successful drama “The Guilty” starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The deal is primarily for directing but will also focus on films and documentary features. Fuqua has also announced that he has renamed his production company from “Fuqua Filma” to “Hill District Media” to emphasise his background and roots that translate to his work on the screen.

“The Guilty” premiered on Netflix in October and Fuqua described working with Netflix as “such a rewarding experience, both from an artistic and collaborative point of view”. Continuing with “I’m beyond excited to continue this relationship and expand our slate of films with a partner that shares our vision at Hill District Media.”

Antoine is an impactful storyteller who believes art can create meaningful change in the world. We had a great collaboration with him on The Guilty and look forward to telling many more stories together in the future.
