Batman’s Matt Reeves to Produce Sci-Fi Classic “Way Station” for Netflix

Matt Reeves’ production company 6th & Idaho have teamed up with Netflix and secured the rights to the sci-fi classic “Way Station”. The sci-fi thriller will be based on the Hugo Award-Winning novel by Clifford D. Simak. Reeves is currently working on the new iteration of “Batman” for Warner Bros.

For more than 100 years Enoch Wallace has been the keeper of a Way Station on Earth for intergalactic alien travelers as they teleport across the universe. But the gifts of knowledge and immortality that his intergalactic guests have bestowed upon him are proving to be a nightmarish burden, for they have opened Enoch’s eyes to humanity’s impending destruction. Still, one final hope remains for the human race.

  1. About time Simak had a film adaptation. There is one Russian and one Hungarian film, which I have never seen anywhere. His books are inventive and haunting.

Robert Sheckley, Frederik Pohl, Lois McMaster Bujold and Cyril M. Kornbluth are other classic sf authors who are somewhat neglected. Adaptations of the adult sf of Ursula K LeGuin would also be welcome.

Luckily for Reeves, The Batman does not seem to be taking up much of his time.
