“Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” is a “Netflix Film” – Could it be the Rumoured Interactive Episode?

Earlier this month Netflix’s Sci-Fi twitter account NXOnNetflix posted a potential release date for season 5 of Charlie Brooker’s “Black Mirror” as 28th December. While it only mentioned a single episode, “Bandersnatch”, the fact the tweet was quickly removed could imply Netflix were wanting to keep the release date under wraps a bit longer. However, now, if you search for ‘Black Mirror’ on the Netflix website you now get a holding page for “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” and it is being marketed as a Netflix Film – i.e. a standalone episode that is not part of the series.

There have been rumours previously of an interactive episode of Black Mirror and this could be it – why else would it be released separately from the main series if it wasn’t a separate thing? There is also the 5h 12m runtime which is likely the total length of all the possible options that could be played out. We only have 10 days to wait and find out though. Merry Christmas!

Note that the films and shows shown in the image above are for Netflix USA.
