Last July Netflix acquired the worldwide distribution rights to the then upcoming Bravo series “Dirty John”. The show, already green-lit for a second season, is based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast of the same name from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard.
The first season of “Dirty John” arrives on Netflix globally on February 14th and follows Debra Newell’s (Connie Britton) romance with John Meehan (Eric Bana), a handsome and romantic charmer who sweeps Debra off her feet and pulls her into his web of lies. The second season will follow a different, self-contained story.
Dirty John, starring Eric Bana and Connie Britton, is an eight-part true crime anthology series based on the Los Angeles Times podcast of the same name. This sexy, provocative and harrowing real-life thriller follows the true events of an online dating relationship turned dangerous that rocked headlines and shocked the world.
