“Marvel’s Luke Cage” Will Not Return for Season 3 – Could We See “Heroes for Hire”?

Just a week after the cancellation of “Marvel’s Iron Fist” comes the news that “Marvel’s Luke Cage” also won’t return for another season. Marvel and Netflix said in  joint statement “unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season”.

It does, however, mean that “Heroes for Hire” could now become it’s own series – the Marvel comic series features Iron Fist and Luke Cage as a duo…

    1. “Marvel’s Luke Cage” as a series is cancelled. That doesn’t mean Luke Cage is leaving Netflix. Same for Iron Fist. As per the article is could be a case of ending the single shows to create Heroes for Hire with the 2 of them together.

    I expect the next announcement is that The Defenders has also been canned.

    Which leaves us with only three worthwhile series to continue; Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher.

    That’s a 50% success rate.

    Netflix, you can do better. Much better.

    1. Ben Marchant-Williams True. However I’m not sure they’d want to be seen as a company that prematurely ends contracts and gets sued / pays out in order to have their series back in their hands. Pretty sure that would affect any potential future licensing deals in a negative way.
