“Captain Marvel” Will be The First Marvel Film NOT to Come to Netflix USA

Way back in 2012 before streaming films was really a thing and before Netflix was a common household name, Disney and Netflix made a deal that would give Netflix users in the USA first streaming rights for all Disney films released theatrically from 2016 onwards – the deal included Pixar, Marvel and LucasFilm too. After just a couple of years of making use of that deal, Disney ended the contract in light of their upcoming streaming service Disney+. Disney CEO Bob Igor has now confirmed that the upcoming Marvel film “Captain Marvel” will be the first Marvel film NOT to come to Netflix in the USA since the contract ended; making “Avenger’s: Infinity War” the most recent Marvel film on Netflix USA with “Ant-Man and The Wasp” scheduled to arrive at some point this year. It is currently unknown how this will affect Netflix subscribers outside of America.
