Netflix has announced the cast and creators for their upcoming quarantine-themed anthology series called “Social Distance”. The series was conceived, cast and executed entirely remotely during quarantine and is the brainchild of “Orange Is The New Black” creator Jenji Kohan. The 8-part series will arrive in Fall (Autumn) 2020 and you can see the cast announcement below.
The groundbreaking project features Danielle Brooks, Mike Colter, Oscar Nunez, Guillermo Diaz, Asante Blackk, Lovie Simone, Marsha Stephanie Blake and more. The series has been produced entirely remotely with all the cast and crew working from their own homes. Weisman Graham wrote the scripts, Diego Velasco will direct the episodes and Kohan is executive producer. The show was created to tell stories about the current moment but was also a challenge to the team to to do something new by creating and producing everything remotely so they can all say safe.
The team said: “The experience of social distancing is currently universal, but no individual story is the same. Through a broad spectrum of tales and moments, some seismic and some mundane, we hope to capture a moment in time. And we hope that ‘Social Distance’ will help people feel closer to one another.”
