DC’s “Sweet Tooth” is Heading to Netflix in a New Family-Friendly Series

Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man himself, is Executive-producing a new family-friendly series being created by Team Downey in association with Warner Bros. Television for Netflix. The series is based on DC characters in the “Sweet Tooth” comic series by Jeff Lemire that was published by DC imprint Vertigo from 2009 to 2013.

The story follows various human/animal hybrids and focuses on Gus – part deer, part boy – who leaves his home in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a ragtag family of humans and animal-children hybrids like himself in search of answers about this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins.

The series will consist of eight one-hour episodes and stars Christian Convery (“Beautiful Boy”), Nonso Anozie (“The Laundromat”), Adeel Akhtar (“Les Misérables” [TV series]) and Will Forte (“The Last Man on Earth”), with James Brolin (“Life in Pieces”) as the voice of the narrator.
