Disenchantment: Netflix Orders a New Cartoon from Simpsons and Futurama Creator

While American Netflix viewers are still mourning the loss of “Futurama” from the online streaming giant, it’s creator Matt Groening has just announced his new adult-orientated cartoon “Disenchanted” will be arriving on Netflix in 2018. The fantasy cartoon will feature the voice talents of Noel Fielding (“The Mighty Boosh”), Matt Berry (“The IT Crowd”),  John DiMaggio (“Futurama”) and Billy West (“Futurama”) among others.

“Disenchantment” is an adult animated comedy fantasy series that’s set in the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland following the misadventures of the hard-drinking princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

“Disenchantment will be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you,” says Groening.

20 episodes have been ordered but it is unclear whether that will be a single season or split into two.

  1. Somebody told me they were bringing back Futurama and I was actually disappointed by the news. I’m assuming they got their information mixed up and actually they heard about this. This I vastly prefer the sound of.
