In May 2019 we announced that Netflix had ordered their third Arabic Original series “Paranormal” based on the books by the late author Ahmed Khaled Tawfik. Tawfik was the first contemporary writer of horror and science fiction in the Arab world and has sold more than 15 million copies. The series is set in Egypt in the 1960s and packed with mystery and suspense, depicts the adventures of the leading character Dr. Refaat Ismail, a single haematologist who finds himself faced with a series of supernatural events. The series arrives on November 5th and you can see the teaser trailer below.
Refaat Ismail, a cynical hematology professor with a dark sense of humor, has his world turned upside down and his lifelong scientific convictions questioned after he begins to experience paranormal activities. Along with his university colleague Maggie, they enter the paranormal world and try to save their loved ones from the immense danger that surrounds them.
