Netflix has released the first images from the film “Dumplin'” which will feature new songs from country music icon Dolly Parton and is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Julie Murphy. “Dumplin'” is the plus-size, teenage daughter of a former beauty queen, who signs up for her mom’s pageant as a protest that escalates when other contestants follow her footsteps, revolutionizing the pageant and their small Texas town. The film will star Danielle Macdonald (“Bird Box”), Jennifer Aniston (Upcoming “Murder Mystery”), Odeya Rush (“Goosebumps”), Dove Cameron (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Harold Perrineau (“Claws”), Bex Taylor-Klaus and Ginger Minj.
The film will arrive on Netflix in the USA later this year as well as in some other selected countries (to be announced) and in some select US theatres. The soundtrack will be available from November 30th.
