First Look at “Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey” – A Musical Christmas Film Coming to Netflix Soon

Netflix has released a number of images from their upcoming Christmas film “Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey” which, despite the name, has nothing to do with Jimmy Saville… The film is described as whimsical and inspiring and stars Forest Whitaker (“Black Panther”) and newcomer Madelen Mills alongside Emmy Award Winner Keegan-Michael Key (“The Lion King”), Tony Award Winner Phylicia Rashad (“Creed”, “Empire”) and Tony Award Winner Anika Noni Rose (“Princess and the Frog”, “Power”). The film is written and directed by David E. Talbert (“El Camino Christmas”, “First Sunday”) and will arrive during the upcoming Holiday season.

A musical adventure and a visual spectacle for the ages, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey is a wholly fresh and spirited family holiday event. Set in the gloriously vibrant town of Cobbleton, the film follows legendary toymaker Jeronicus Jangle (Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker) whose fanciful inventions burst with whimsy and wonder. But when his trusted apprentice (Emmy winner Keegan-Michael Key) steals his most prized creation, it’s up to his equally bright and inventive granddaughter (newcomer Madalen Mills) — and a long-forgotten invention — to heal old wounds and reawaken the magic within. From the imagination of writer-director David E. Talbert and featuring original songs by John Legend, Philip Lawrence, and Davy Nathan, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey reminds us of the strength of family and the power of possibility.

Whitaker will play “Jeronicus Jangle” in the family holiday musical: A once-great inventor who has lost his belief in himself and his inventions, he stumbles upon a second chance when his granddaughter comes to town for the holidays.

Expect a trailer in the coming weeks.
